Edward Gebrael is a Montreal based mentalist and hypnotist. He has performed for corporate clients, festivals, private parties, high profile individuals and national television, and is recognised as one of the city's most mesmerising performers.
Mentalism is a craft, not a gift.
People tell Edward he has a gift. It is a generous thing to say and it is not quite true. What looks like a sixth sense is a decade of work on psychology, suggestion, misdirection and reading the very small things people do without noticing they are doing them. The effect feels supernatural. The method is rehearsal.
That distinction matters for the people who hire him. A performer working from a gift has one show. A performer working from a craft can shape the material around your audience, switch languages mid room, read that a table has gone quiet and adjust, and still land the finale on time. Corporate events do not go to plan. The craft is what survives that.
Edward performs mind reading, impossible predictions, psychological influence and hypnosis, in French, in English, or in both at once. He has played rooms of twenty and rooms of over a thousand, and the thing he cares about in each is the same: the moment somebody realises the impossible thing happened to them, and turns to look at the person beside them.
